The OnePlus formed by Pete Lau in December 2013 still young company but so much popular world wide now bring another mid range smartphone OnePlus X and will the first device made by OnePlus to be made in India.
The OnePlus X comes in two finishes, Onyx and a limited Ceramic edition. It’s measuring just 6.9mm around the waist, and you’ll be able to adorn it with a range of OnePlus StyleSwap covers. It comes equipped with the Alert Slider switch we saw on the OnePlus 2, which lets you easily switch between three notification alert modes. Unlike its predecessors which offered phablet-grade 5.5-inch screens, the OnePlus X features a compact 5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 441ppi. The screen is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz (the same one powering the OnePlus One), which is a bit disappointing considering it’s a 32-bit chipset, and will not be able to take advantage of Android Lollipop’s 64-bit support. The processor is paired with 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU. It features just 16GB of onboard storage – but here’s the good news – there’s finally a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB. The camera department includes a 13MP rear shooter with ISOCELL technology, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, as well as an 8MP front shooter for selfies.
The OnePlus X is a dual-SIM device, but the second tray also doubles up as a microSD card slot. Other connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and USB OTG. The smartphone runs OnePlus’ custom OxygenOS ROM which is based on Android Lollipop 5.1. OnePlus has also introduced a new app with the smartphone called OnePlus Radio, which lets you connect to various radio stations. A 2,525Ah battery provides the fuel.
The OnePlus X has been priced at Rs 16,999 for the Onyx variant, and Rs 22,999 for the Ceramic edition. It will be available exclusively on Amazon India, with the Onyx version going on sale starting November 5th, and the Ceramic variant from November 24th. You’ll need a Ceramic-specific invite to purchase the latter. The devices will be available via an invite-only model for the first month, but OnePlus will be holding weekly open sales from the second month.
